  1. What makes Lighthouse Baptist unique?

We are conservative and traditional, yet fresh and alive with a desire to enjoy our time together worshipping the Lord. We are serious about having a real, thriving relationship with God. Not only do we believe people can truly know the Lord, but that it is possible, in His strength, to live a life that is pleasing to Him. Practical Bible studies and sermons strive to educate, not entertain, everyone in knowing God and living for Him. We strive for authentic worship centered on God, not man. We desire to help build godly lives, families, friendships, and communities.

  2. What time are services?

Bible Studies for all ages begin at 9:30 a.m. Our Morning Worship Service is at 10:45 AM., with our Evening Worship at 5 p.m. Our Mid-Week Bible Study and Prayer Service meets Wednesdays at 7 p.m.

  3. How do I get to Lighthouse?

We are located ¼ mile North of Main Street (40/22) in New Concord on Rix Mills Road, just past the Distribution Center.

  4. What children’s programs are available?

During our 9:30 a.m Bible Studies, we have classes for children from three years old to 6th grade as well as a baby and toddler nursery. Junior and Senior High teens meet as part of our integrated Family Bible Studies.

  5. What is available for infants and toddlers?

We have a well-equipped nursery to care for your infants and toddlers during all services. Only ladies—most of them moms themselves—are allowed in our nurseries as every precaution is taken to ensure your child is well cared for.

  6. What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

There is no “dress code” to attend our Bible Studies or church services. We do believe people should be modest and appropriate. Many of our people choose to wear their “Sunday best”.

  7. What Bible Studies or Sunday School classes are available for adults?

Our Family Bible Studies, for both teens and adults, begins at 9:30 a.m. in the main auditorium. Practical lessons strive to teach the Bible in a way that can be applied throughout the week. Learning the Bible together gives parents and teens the opportunity to grow spiritually together, building relationships and providing accountability. These classes may meet together or divide into men’s and ladies’ small groups.

  8. What happens when I get to Lighthouse?

Our greeters will give you a bulletin and assist you in getting to your class or getting into the service.

  9. What do I do before the service starts?

If you arrive before the service starts, you will notice that our auditorium is filled with plenty of comfortable seats. There are no reserved seats, so you may sit anywhere. Many people will be greeting one another during this time.

  10. What are the services like?

Services generally last about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Our worship services are a time of joyful worship and praise, with a variety of traditional songs, special music, and a relevant message from God’s Word.

  11. How will I know when to stand?

The pastor or the music director will ask the congregation to stand or sit. We may stand or sit during singing, but generally stand for the public Bible reading and sit for the preaching service.

  12. How long is the service?

The worship services are about 1 hour and 15 minutes, usually ending about noon on Sunday mornings.

  13. Do you give public invitations at the end of the service? What are they like?

At the end of his message, Pastor De Leon invites anyone who does not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ to accept Him. This is also a time for personal prayer with God over changes a person may need to make. Counseling is also available for spiritual needs.

  14. Do I need to donate money when I visit?

Lighthouse Baptist Church does believe tithing is a Biblical principle and we do encourage it. However, our guests should not feel under any obligation to participate. As our guest, we would request that you would fill out a Guest Information card, and we ask that you place it in the offering basket when it is passed.

  15. What happens after the service?

People usually mingle and fellowship as they prepare to leave. The pastor usually stands near the exit to welcome you and answer any questions you may have.
